Like many women, I'm always interested in the next beauty gadget that will promise me results of helping me look younger or improve my complexion. Now that I'm in my thirties I seem to care more about taking care of my skin more than anything. I started noticing changes like oily skin, hair growing in more places, larger pores, break outs, dryness and uneven color. I did spend quite a bit of money to get professional microdermabrasion done, but it was just too costly to continue! So of course I went to go hunt for some gadgets that I can easily use at home and that can give me the results I wanted.
Hey guys! I officially completed my first 5k and tested out some new fitness products that helped me when I trained for it. YAY! So since my first post I have been increasing my running distance little by little. Right now I can comfortably run almost 2.5 miles. Not bad for someone who has never run before! I followed the Couch-to-5k plan along with strength training at the gym coupled with a boot camp class I went to three days a week. It was pretty intense, but I was liking how it made me feel overall and it is also nice that my clothes were starting to fit much better!
After the photo-op you are taken to your table and the waitress/waiter will ask what beverages you want. They serve you a family style platter of bacon, eggs, potato casserole and sausage and then you can go to the self serve buffet to get pastries, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt with all the fixings, fresh fruit, bagels as well as Norwegian options like smoked salmon, marinated fish, cheeses and the like. The food wasn't anything special, but we weren't really there for the food. ;)
On the third day our Walt Disney World Trip we planned to spend the whole day at Epcot Theme Park. We had to get up very early that morning since we had reservations to go to the Princess Breakfast at Akershus. The restaurant is located in the Norway Pavilion of the park and they offer a breakfast service as well as lunch and dinner. Reservations are highly recommended since this is a popular spot to meet the Princesses. Once checking in and entering, you are invited to take a photo with a Disney princess that greets you at the door. For our visit, it was Belle and the staff takes a digital photo in which they print out and give to you at the end of your meal.
Here is the second installment of our Disney World Trip! You can view our first blog post here. On the second day in Orlando we were still so jet lagged from our trip that we kind of slept in to our dismay. Since it seemed like most of the morning was already gone, it wasn't worth trying to go into the theme parks yet. Instead we decided to check out the Downtown Disney shopping area and have a low key day of just walking around and checking the sights. by Adriana It was brought to my attention from a viewer that hard covers on laptops are difficult to remove and they were absolutely right. I liked how my TopCase cover fit perfectly on my lap top, but getting it off was a whole different story... It would not pop off, no matter how much I carefully tried to remove it with my bare hands. One of the most amazing trips that I've ever taken recently was to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I was under the impression that no theme park can ever beat California's Disneyland or Tokyo Disneyland, but after experiencing what Walt Disney World has to offer, it pretty much blows any Disneyland out of the water! Don't get me wrong Disneyland fans, I'll always love Disneyland since I have the fondest memories of going there as a kid but Walt Disney World is just on a whole other level. But of course that is just my opinion. :) Walt Disney World was always on the long list of destinations I've always wanted travel to. I remember when I was a kid my parents went to Walt Disney World on their own for my Dad's company business trip. When they returned they brought home so many awesome souvenirs; it almost seemed as if they had traveled the world. Among the treasures that they brought back were picture books of all the parks and I would just look at those books for hours and be consumed in the idea of going to this magnificent place! Fast forward 25 years and I finally got to fulfill this wish! by Adriana So I decided to sign up for the Color Vibe 5k with some friends this coming September and of course I am nervous! I've never done distance running so it will be a bit of a challenge. I do go to the gym 4-5 days a week for 2 hours at a time and do good amounts of both cardio and weights, but I know it's going to take a little more hard work to get my body to actually run longer than it's used to. So right now I am making initial plans on how I will train myself to be ready for this race. I've already assured myself that my goal in this is not to be the fastest runner in the race or even try to be. My past cardiovascular medical history will definitely prevent me from doing that, but my main goal is to maintain a good running pace throughout the race with very little to no walking in between. Finally a video review! I purchased the Logitech HD Pro c920 for the sole purpose of doing better looking review videos. I had a lot of fun with it and the HD quality of this webcam is hard to beat. While this camera has a lot of pros as described in the video, it does have some big flaws, first being that it is not compatible with Macs, though some people got it to work on their Macs it just didn't work as well as it does on Windows. Second flaw is that the videos recorded off the webcam are not easily editable in major video editing programs like Sony Vegas, iMovie and Final Cut Pro. While customers are still waiting for a possible fix/patch to this situation from Logitech, there are some round-about ways to getting it to work but the process was a realpain! :( We were able to get it going in our Sony Vegas program but that was after hours and hours of trying to get it to work properly and render smoothly. So with that in mind I still believe this webcam is excellent for chatting online and may be good for recording video if you either don't need to edit your videos or are willing to go a few extra miles to get it to work in your editing program! :) I am always in a search for great tasting foods that pack an all in one punch with the necessary vitamins and minerals for my daily intake. I guess you can say I get a little lazy (or busy!) eating tons of different fruits and veggies, so if there is a vitamin, seed, plant or anything containing all the good stuff my body needs each day, I am willing to try it! So while scouring my favorite health blogs I came across hemp hearts. I had no idea what hemp hearts were let alone heard of them, the first thoughts in my head were of marijuana, hemp cloth, or hemp bracelets. But nowadays many health food stores offer a variety of hemp products like hemp milk, hemp seed, hemp lotion, etc...should be good stuff, right? For the longest time I was in search for the perfect case to protect my baby – the 13” MacBook Air. by Adriana |
